Mpumalanga province striker Sphamandla Dlamini continued from where he left off yesterday by netting a hat trick to help his team beat USSA 4-2 in the SAFA/SAB Under 21 Championship semifinal at the Giant Stadium in Tshwane on Friday.
Dlamini was also named as the player of the tournament during the SAFA/SAB Gala Dinner held in Pretoria East last night.
Inspired by the accolade received last night, the 21 year old striker was back to his best to send his team to Saturday's final after beating the USSA team in the first semifinal.
Dlamini drew first blood in the 20th minute after he dribbled through a cluster of defenders, drew 'keeper Brylon Peterson off his line and put the ball into the net.
Besides enjoying better ball possession and control of the match, Mpumalanga had to wait until the second half to get their second goal by Dlamini in almost the same fashion as the first goal.
After this goal, Mpumalanga went to sleep and allowed USSA to come back into the game when Tebogo Galane reduced the deficit in the 64th minute.
While the Student team were searching for an equalizer, Dlamini completed his hat trick with a splendid goal after a well worked move between himself and Siphenathi Laqwela.
Kgopotse Zitha made sure that Mpumalanga cruised safely into the final finishing off from a cross from the left flank in the 81st minute.
Galane netted the last goal of the game for USSA to bring the final score to 4-2 in favour of Mpumalanga.
