Fast running striker Lufuno Munyai inspired Limpopo to a 4-1 victory against USSA Football during the SAFA/SAB Under 21 Championships played at the Giant Stadium in Soshanguve on Thursday.
Munyai grabbed all four goals in the first half to win the man of the match award. Wearing jersey number 14, Munyai registered his intentions of burying USSA under an avalanche of goals with a weak shot that found the back of the net for the opener.
Two minutes later he was back at the throats of USSA. This time his brilliant header missed the target by a few inches.
Then Munyai was back at it again, but this time he picked the right spot after a brilliant through pass from Kabelo Modise to make the scoreline 2-0.
At this stage, USSA were out of sorts allowing Limpopo a chance to add another goal with Munyai proving to be the man to watch in this year's tournament with a header to make it three.
Defending with their backs against the wall, USSA were forced to concede a penalty after one of their defenders handled the ball inside the 18 area.
Munya stepped up to the penalty spot to score his fourth goal of the match. However USSA still managed to pull one back in the 45th minute though Mahle Mtabane to bring the scoreline to 4-1 at half time.
USSA came back a changed side in the second half but the writing was already on the wall. They could not bounce back into the game after Munyai's damage in the first half.
